When most people think of the White Mountains, they think of New Hampshire. Although it is true that most of the White Mountain National Forest is located in New Hampshire, over 44,000 acres of that beautiful forest spill into western Maine. The mountains located in the Maine portion of the forest are much smaller than their New Hampshire counterparts, but many of the trails leading to the summits are just as rugged.
Albany Mountain is a small mountain located in the White Mountains of Maine. It is the eastern most trailed peak in the White Mountain National Forest. It's easy to find plenty of information on the four-thousand foot peaks of the Whites, but finding information on some of the lesser known peaks can be difficult. The objective of this site is to provide as much information as possible on this small, but beautiful mountain.
