Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q:  Is Albany Mountain on any peakbagging lists.
  • A:  None that I know of, however, it is a requirement to hike the trails if you wish to earn your White Mountains Red-Lining Patch.

  • Q:  What is the elevation of Albany Mountain?
  • A:  1930'
  • Q:  Is there camping in the area?
  • A:  There is camping at the Crocker Pond Campground about a mile further down the road from the northern trailhead.
  • Q:  Can the mountain be hiked in winter?
  • A:  Patte Brook Road (from the north) may be closed in the winter making that approach much longer. The best chance of hiking this mountain in winter will be from the south. Much of the lower portion of the trail should be broken out by snowmobile.
  • Q:  Are there other hiking trails in the area?
  • A:  The one mile Albany Brook Trail can be reached from the Crocker Pond Campground.
  • Q:  Where can I find the latest trail conditions?
  • A:  I will do my best to post what I can on this site but if you are looking to find out if the trails are broken out or if the trails are currently muddy then I recommend visiting New England Trail Conditions.
