This was just a small hike as Lynn and I explored a bit of Maine's Coast. There's a nice stretch of endeveloped coast located in East Point Sanctuary. Dogs are not allowed in the sanctuary so Lynn and I first took Madison for a walk south along the coast.

After allowing Madison to get some exercise, we returned to the car. It was a cool day so we knew she would be fine. Lynn and I then headed into the sanctuary. We had come down this way to escape the snow. Other than this one patch we were successful.

The trail started out as crushed gravel, but later was a dirt path.

We had fun watching the endless waves crash against the rocky coast.

We had a nice view of Wood Island Lighthouse.

There were a couple of benches along the way.

Here's a zoomed in shot of the lighthouse. The lighthouse is on an island with no bridges to it so this was the closest we would come.

The trail dead ends. We headed back towards the point. There is a trail that provides a bit of a shortcut on the return trip. The day was overcast but we still had some great views.
