September 4, 2010 Hike #2
After hiking to Little Abol Falls, I decided to head up to where MEB and friends were staying while in the park. I stopped along the way and took this picture at Ledge Falls. The recent rain really made a difference.

I arrived at the campground. It was lightly raining, but several of us decided to head up to Doubletop. After hiking roughly 2,180 miles, MEB took a well deserved rest since she would be climbing Katahdin and finishing the A.T. the next day.

I began the hike with Drew, Darlene, and DaveBear. Arm would catch up to us later.

Near the summit there was a small ladder to assist us.

The weather cleared just in time, and we had great views.

I had a long drive to get back to the other side of the park so I descended the mountain by myself. With improved weather, the stream was even more beautiful.

I made the long drive back to Bear Brook. Tomorrow MEB will finish the A.T.!!!
