This afternoon I will be kayaking around Bryant Pond, also known as Christopher Lake.

I put my kayak in on the east side of the lake at a public boat launch.

There's lake front property all the way around.

There are 3 islands on the lake. I'll be back to check them out a little later.

Nearing the southeastern end of the lake where there is a small dam.

All the lakes I've kayaked in Maine so far are not completely natural. Each of them have a dam.

Time to check out the first of three islands.

Usually if one of these little islands is big enough for a house it has one. This uninhabited island was an exception. I was surprised to find I could get out and walk around on this one, although the walk only took about 30 seconds.

The second island had a house on. There were no trespassing signs so I didn't get out. I just paddled around the island.

The third island was very small . . .
. . . but it still had a one room structure on it.

I went up and explored the north end of the lake . . .
. . . before turning back down the eastern side of the lake, and . . .

back to my truck.
