February 7, 2010

I finished my January Grid early in the month so it has been 3 weeks since I worked on the Grid. Well, February is here and I am ready to go. Yesterday I hiked Owl's Head and Tecumseh. Today's plan was the Twins and Galehead. We began the hike about 7:45 a.m. The trails were in ideal conditions, and I was able to stay in microspikes the entire day.

We (a friend and I) layered up a little before the summit of North Twin. I also put a sweater on Madison.

We tagged North Twin and proceeded on to South Twin.

Madison battles the wind on the way to South Twin.

With fairly high winds and low visibility, we didn't linger on South Twin. We headed down to Galehead Hut where I fed Madison.

With a little food in her, Madison was ready to go.

We then went and tagged Galehead before heading down the Gale River Trail. We finished about 2:30.
