September 6, 2009 Hike #2

Today I will be taking some trails that are less travelled. I left The Basin parking lot and headed under the highway.

I then took the Pemi Trail up to Lafayette Campground.
I headed up to Lonesome Lake and then up to Cannon Mountain.

Next I headed up to Northeast Cannonball, a New England 100 highest. I had been here once before but it was on a cloudy day. Here's the view back to Cannon.

The next section of trail was new for me as I headed over the other Cannonballs.

I had several ladders to climb down.

Heading over the Cannonballs was a rugged stretch of trail. I then headed up to North Kinsman. Since I was coming back this way, I just kept going over to South Kinsman where I took my first break of the day. I gave Lynn a call to say 'Hi'.

I took this trail down to the Cascade Brook Trail. I only stayed on this for a half a mile before getting on yet another new trail, the Basin Cascade Trail. First I checked out Rocky Glen Falls.
