I like where I live in Norway, Maine, but one thing the little town is missing is a place where I can get my bicycle repaired. Today I took my bike with me to the Whites. After hiking Cabot, the Bulge, and the Horn I drove to Gorham where I dropped off my bike. It would be ready in a couple of hours. Hmmmm? Just enough time to do a small mountain. I decided on Pine Mountain since the trail started in Gorham. I climbed the mountain once before but it was from the Dolly Copp Road. I took Promenade Road until the pavement ended. I continued another minute or two until I reached the trailhead.

Up I headed. I got within a half mile of the summit and I saw a couple people coming down some stairs, apparently a side trail.
"Where does that go?" I asked.
"Chapel Rock," one of them replied.
Up the stairs I headed.

It was probably a tenth of a mile before I reached Chapel Rock.

There was a cross near the rock.

I went by some short trails to some lookouts. I decided to check them out on the way back.

There was a viewpoint just past the summit.

When I returned, I checked out the "Gorham View" side trail.

Down the mountain I headed all the way back to Gorham.
