July 3, 2009 Hike #2

After hiking the Wildcats this morning I took Dolly Copp Road to bypass Gorham as I headed over to hike Waumbek. This brought me passed a small little trail that I've been wanting to hike. Although it is quite a stretch to call this a hike. It is just .1 mile to the base of the Falls and then another tenth to the top bringing the grand total for a roundtrip of this hike to .4 miles. We've had a lot of rain recently, so this was probably the perfect time to visit Triple Falls.

As the name implies there are three waterfalls here.
Depending on what you may consider a waterfall there may be a couple more.

This short hike may be enticing for families. My advice is to use extreme caution. It would be very easy for small children to step off the trail and fall down into the falls. There was a sign reading "End of Path" to mark the end of the trail. OK, now on to a real hike, Mount Waumbek.
