April 9, 2009 Hike #2

With time to spare this afternoon, Lynn and I decided to take advantage of the good weather and head up to Brasstown Bald, the highest point in Georgia. There is a road most of the way up.

The last .6 miles were up to us.

It was paved the whole way, but fairly steep.

Lynn took advantage of the benches along the way.

We climbed up to the observation platform. Below us was a visitors center, but it wasn't open.

The tower was locked. We just have great timing don't we!

I wonder if this is the quick way back down to the parking lot???

Lynn enjoyed the hike down much better than the hike up. This was state highpoint #13 for me.
