July 12, 2008 Hike #2

After bagging Peak Above the Nubble earlier today. Dave and I decided to go for another hike. Today's bonus peak would be Mount Tremont. It's not a 4000 footer but with more than 2500' of elevation gain it would be tougher than some of the 4's that I've done.

I would divide the trail up into three sections: fairly steep, then gentle, and then "reach out and touch the trail in front of you" steep. This picture of Dave helps capture how steep the trail was, especially as we neared the summit.

Dave took a picture of me on the 3371' summit.

This peak does qualify for my 3000 footer list and is also on the list for New Hampshire 52-with-a-view.

We returned over the same route. Here's our track.

Next week we plan to go after Scar Ridge, a notorious bushwhack.
