I have a short day planned for today, just over 15 miles. I've been averaging over 20, and I'm ready for a shorter day. I'm hoping to finish by 2 or 3 in the afternoon. We are moving to a new motel today. Lynn can't do everything. She'll need me to carry in some of the heavier things and help get groceries. I also need to get to bed early tonight in preparation of tomorrow's 31.4 mile day.

Leaving Max Patch Road (Route 1182)

Well, that first 4 miles went fast.

An extra .4 miles roundtrip to see a shelter. No, I think I'll pass today.

I only had one big climb today, up to the 4263' summit of Snowbird Mountain.

This mountain also provided my only view today.

Hmmm? What's that at the top?

I stopped to check it out. It was some type of equipment for air traffic control.

More flame azaleas. (I think)

Time to cross the bridge. There's our car way down the other end. Lynn's right on time again.

I met Lynn, but I wasn't quite done for the day. This was an easier pick up spot than Davenport Gap, so we met here. I then helped Lynn find Davenport Gap where she then dropped me off. I then hiked the 1.5 miles from there back to our original meeting spot on Waterville Road.
