After visiting West Point Military Academy in the morning and then moving to a new motel room in the early afternoon, I still had time to get in a few miles. I got to start a new state today. I started today's hike just over the New York line in Connecticut.

Within just a few minutes, I was back in New York. I didn't find a sign for entering New York or entering Connecticut for nobos, but there was a kiosk.
Check out this spiral tree.

I haven't seen a lot of bridges in New York.

The Wiley Shelter was right on the trail.

This section had some smooth trails for a change.

I went over a very long section of bog bridging.

This was a short section of the trail, and I ran a lot of it. The last mile was the nicest as I came out into lush green fields.

There were very few styles to go over in New York.

On Route 22 there is a train station. Hikers have a chance to visit New York City if they wish. What a shock that must be to go from hiking in the woods to New York City in just a few minutes. I hit it just right. A train went flying by as I took a picture. How you actually get the train to stop here, I have no idea. Maybe it only stops at certain times.

A few minutes later I was joined by Lynn and Madison.

We had no desire to visit New York City today, so we headed back to our motel room.
