Just a tiny hike this afternoon. It's a time for Lynn and I to relax and enjoy the fall foliage. We parked at the base of the mountain where a parking attendant collected $3. Depending on when you go, you may get in for free. Here's today's track.

There are several routes to the top. We started off on the Eagle Scout Trail.

The trail was flat for the first half. There was only about 400 feet of elevation gain, but it hit all at once.

Near the top we took a right onto the Nature Trail.

A few minutes later we reached the 1,416 foot summit. Not much of a mountain in terms of elevation, but it has the distinction of being the highest mountain in southwestern Maine. Pleasant Mountain is a little over 2,000 feet but it is just a little further north. That is considered southwestern Maine as well so I guess it depends how far south and how far west you go. There's a stone tower at the top.

Let's climb inside.

From the top is a great 360° view. Here's the view of part of Sebago, Maine's 2nd largest lake.

We took the very short Ledges Trail back down.

We then walked down the road back to our car. This was a short but very nice hike. I would recommend it for families with small children.
