Last week I took a couple of evenings and kayaked around Lake Pennesseewassee (Norway Lake). Now it's time to make my way around its little brother, Little Pennesseewassee Pond. Lynn and Madison came with me today so Madison could cool off in the water by the shore on this day of record setting heat. When we got there I realized I forgot my camera. We were only about 10 minutes from home so Lynn volunteered to go back for it. Seeing I had some time to kill, I decided to find a way to thank her. I paddled out into the pond to begin the project. She got back before I finished my 'masterpiece', and she got this picture of Madison.

As you can see, Madison is back to here comical self after yesterday's porcupine incident. I got to the shore and handed Lynn the GPS.
"Look what I wrote," I said to her.
"Wow! That's pretty neat," she said.

I know, it kind of looks like a first grader wrote it, but it is a lot harder than it looks. It is much easier to write with a pen than it is with a kayak. The 'Lynn' track was 1.75 miles long. Who knows, maybe I've started a new fade, GPS word art. I waved good bye to Lynn and headed off.

Here's the track around the pond. Remember a GPS is only accurate within a few yards at times so when I'm close to the shore sometimes it looks like I am paddling on land.

Up in the northeast corner of the lake is a small dam with a walkway across it.

I made a complete counterclockwise loop, meeting Lynn and Madison back on shore.

Well, that didn't take long. I think the GPS word art took longer than the trip around the pond. It was so hot today that I couldn't resist a quick swim.
