Just when I said, "Hikes don't get much shorter than this", here's an even shorter one to Hawk Mountain.

At the very top is a nice view, but a little spoiled by one tree that needs to 'disappear'.

The trail then drops down a little and comes out on some open ledges providing an exceptional view.

We could see over to Pleasant Mountain which is on my hiking to do list.
The ski slopes to Shawnee Peak can be seen on the right side of the mountain.

We returned over the same route. This is a good little hike if you want a great view at an affordable cost. It costs just one easy mile roundtrip.
