March 24, 2007 Hike #3

The trailhead for this hike was a touch tricky to find. You need to turn onto Dugway Road which is unmarked and closed in the winter. I parked just before Albany Covered Bridge.

The bridge was built in 1859 and is still in operation today although closed during winter.

Swift River looks cold, cold, cold.

Once they open the road, you can park a little closer to the trail by driving to the other side of the bridge where there is parking for the Boulder Loop Trail.

So far, this trail is very user friendly.

Just follow the 'yellow brick road'. Oops, I mean yellow blazes.

Madison between a rock and a hard place.

The unnamed summit is .2 miles off the loop trail. How quick the weather changes in the White Mountains. The blue skies that I had this morning are long gone. That's Mount Chocorua all the way in the back.

It's time to head back Madison.

We headed back down the mountain, completing our 3rd and final hike of the day.
