.March 24, 2007 Hike #2After returning from hike #1, I stopped briefly at my car to lighten my pack. I hadn't post-holed on hike #1 so I decided to leave my snowshoes behind along with a couple other things. Ah, that feels better. Lets go Madison. We headed off on the Unh Trail which is a loop trail. Notice that both directions point to Mount Hedgehog. I guess we'll go to Allen's Ledge first.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ As I left the east ledges I came across one of the largest groups of hikers I've ever seen. There were probably about 30 in the group. When I made my way back to the parking lot, I wasn't surprised to find a bus parked there.
Both Potash and Hedgehog Mountains are great mountains to hike. Give them a try. Now it's time to start the drive down Kancamagus Highway where I'll begin hike #3 for today.
