This is the second of two hikes today. Trying to work around the rain the last few days left me with two 9 mile sections to get done today. Lynn took me over to Country 565 and I headed south on the A.T. toward Unionville Road. This was the afternoon on my last day of hiking for this vacation. The weather finally turned perfect. This afternoon was mostly sunny giving me some great opportunities for nice photos. Snoopy joined me for the afternoon. We went up Pochuck Mountain and got a view of the wildlife refuge that we would be hiking through in a while. On the way down the mountain, I stopped at the Pochuck Shelter which was about 1/10 of a mile off the trail.

I went through one last New Jersey section of bog bridging.

I headed into the Wallkill River National Wildlife Refuge.

It was beautiful and a nice flat trail. I could have really made good time here but I took my time so I could enjoy it. I couldn't stop completely however. I believe this is also a bug refuge and I had to keep moving or be eaten.

I had just a few miles of New Jersey left as I looked across this green field.

With 2 miles of New Jersey left, I found another great section of trail. Someone wheelbarreled a lot of gravel in for this one.

I didn't see any other hikers on the trail today, but Lynn joined me as I finished my last N.J. mile. I ended at Unionville Road. I had no intention of ending here. I wanted to finish N.J. on the border and then go into N.Y. but the weather had me move things around the last few days. I loved the New Jersey section of the A.T.
