This was one of my earlier hikes where I didn't take my camera. It was rainy and foggy today so I don't think I would have any good pictures any way. Snoopy and I followed Hogan Road for a few tenths of a mile before the AT turned to the right and headed up the Centennial Trail. I reached the junction with the Mahoosuc Trail. If I headed south .1 miles I would reach the summit of Mount Hayes. As fogged in as everything was, I decided to skip it. I continued north (the AT becomes the Mahoosuc Trail at this point). I made my way up to Cascade Mountain. I bet there is a great view from here but not today. I stopped briefly at the Trident Col Tentsite. The trail went right by Page Pond but my visibility was about 10 feet. I made my way up Wocket Ledge and then to Dream Lake. I've heard this lake really is a dream and with it all fogged in I felt cheated. After the lake, the AT intersects the Peabody Brook Trail. I took this trail down. I don't know how far it is, but I would estimate about 3 miles. I came out on North Road and followed that about 1 mile back to the truck. I felt I really missed out as a result of the weather. It is close to home so I hope to do it again.
